Journey to Etosha National Park
You’ll be collected from your Windhoek accommodation at 07:00 and taken to Chameleon HQ for a short pre-departure briefing. Heading north, we make a quick supply stop in Otjiwarongo and enjoy a light lunch pack en route to Etosha National Park.
Upon entering the park, we begin our first game drive, making our way to the lodge while scanning the landscape for wildlife. Etosha spans over 22,000 km² and is home to an incredible diversity of animals—from elephants and lions to hundreds of bird species.
We aim to reach our lodge by sunset. After dinner, a visit to the nearby floodlit waterhole is highly recommended, offering an excellent chance to spot black rhino and elephants at night.
🍽 Meals: Lunch, Dinner
🏨 Accommodation: Halali Resort & Campsite / Okaukuejo Campsite or Similar
Game Drives & Etosha Pan
We start early to catch the morning’s best wildlife activity. The park gates open at sunrise, and we aim to be on our way just as the sun breaches the horizon.
We return to camp for breakfast and to load our vehicle before heading out into the park once again searching for big game. Etosha is a desert landscape and water is the most scarce natural resource. There are, however, numerous waterholes, both natural and man-made, and our game-driving technique is to take in as many of these as possible, hoping that the game will come to us as the thirsty animals attend for a much-needed drink.
We will stop at the Etosha Pan. The name Etosha translates as ‘great white space’ but this name does not do justice to the immensity of the pan—over 4,700 square km of dazzling white mineral flat so vast it can be seen from space.
Exiting the park around sunset, we reach our nearby lodge to unwind and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Through Damaraland to Swakopmund
We set off at 07:30, heading west through scenic Damaraland—an area known for its dramatic landscapes, granite outcrops, and traditional communities. Along the way, we meet local vendors and enjoy a picnic lunch beneath Namibia’s tallest mountain, the Brandberg.
Reaching the Atlantic coast, we travel down the Skeleton Coast, stopping to photograph the Zeila shipwreck beached near Henties Bay. We then continue to Swakopmund, a coastal town known for its colonial architecture and seaside charm.
You’ll be dropped off at your chosen accommodation. The evening is free to explore town or dine at one of its many restaurants—your guide can assist with recommendations.
🍽 Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
🏨 Accommodation: None (end of safari)
