What is the tipping etiquette for safari guides and mountain crews?
For safaris, tipping $35-50 per day per car is recommended for the guide, and if it’s a camping safari, an additional $10 per day for the cook is suggested.
What safari vehicles are used in Kenya & Tanzania?
Custom-built 4WD Toyota Land Cruisers are commonly used, featuring pop-up roofs for excellent wildlife viewing.
Do I use the same safari guide in Kenya and Tanzania?
No, you will change guides at the border between Kenya and Tanzania.
Will there be wildlife roaming at the camps and lodges?
Yes, some camps and lodges are located in areas where wildlife freely roams. Following the guides’ instructions will ensure your safety.
What about snakes and insects?
Snakes and insects are common but generally not a problem during safaris. Wearing protective clothing and using insect repellent will help minimize exposure.
What happens if I get sick or injured on safari?

Medical emergencies will be handled by our safari team, and hospitalization will be arranged if needed. Travel insurance is highly recommended.

Can I take a walk in the National Parks?
Walking safaris are available in certain game reserves and conservancies, but walking in national parks is generally restricted unless guided.
How safe is the water and food in Tanzania, Kenya, and Botswana?
Most expenses are included in the safari cost, but it’s advisable to carry between $50 and $100 per person per day for additional expenses.
What should I wear on my Namibian safari trip?
Lightweight, breathable clothing, closed-toe shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, and neutral colors to blend with the environment are recommended.
What kind of wildlife can be seen (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda)?
Expect to see the “Big Five” (lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo), giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birds.
What cultural experiences can be had (Maasai Mara, etc.)?
Cultural experiences include visiting Maasai villages, traditional dance performances, and learning about local customs.
