Best time to visit Tarangire National Park
There’s no right or wrong time to visit Tarangire National Park as you’ll always have an unforgettable experience no matter what time of the year you visit. However, you can have slightly different experiences depending on when you decide to visit.
June - October (Dry Season)
If you choose to visit Tarangire National Park during the dry season, which lasts from June to October, you can expect mostly beautiful and sunny weather. This is also ideal for wildlife viewing, as many animals migrate into the park from surrounding areas. Spotting wildlife is easier during the dry season since the vegetation is less dense. Additionally, there are fewer mosquitoes during this time, as they prefer more humid conditions. The park is often more crowded during the dry season since it’s the most popular time to visit Tarangire.
November – May (Wet Season)
November usually marks the beginning of the wet season and continues through May. During this period the park transforms with lush, green vegetation, offering spectacular landscapes. This time of year is particularly appealing to bird-watchers, as many migratory bird species are present. While fewer animals remain in the park during the wet season, resulting in smaller crowds, you can still enjoy wildlife viewing on a Tarangire National Park safari. Although the chances of spotting animals is not as high as it is during the dry season, you can still spot animals when going on a Tarangire National Park safari during this time of year.
