Activity Description
Depart from the hotel after breakfast and get ready for a guided walking tour through Stone Town, visiting the historical sites within the narrow alleyways in the old stone city. It includes visiting the former slave market site, which now stands as an Anglican Church built in 1871, the town market, Freddy Mercury House, the old Arab Fort (Ngome Kongwe), Palace Museum, and Old Indian Dispensary (cultural center). You can have lunch in a local restaurant at your own arrangements.
Later, we will sail to Prison Island in a traditional sailing dhow. The island used to be a prison in 1860 and remains the home of giant tortoises up to 120 years old! This is the best snorkeling and swimming spot. After the tour you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
