Serengeti Safari

Experience the Wonders of Serengeti National Park

When it comes to national parks in Africa, Serengeti stands out as one of the most iconic parks. Renowned worldwide, it’s one of the most popular destinations for anyone seeking an authentic safari experience in Africa. Bordering Kenya, the Serengeti is situated in northern Tanzania and is the ideal place to encounter some of the continent’s most iconic animals such as elephants, lions, zebras, wildebeest and much more.

As the second-largest national park in Tanzania, the Serengeti spans approximately 15,000 square kilometers and is home to thousands of animals. Serengeti is nature at its wildest, making this the perfect location for safari adventures.

When joining us on a Serengeti safari you’ll have the opportunity to explore the vast Serengeti plains up close, observing the magnificent wildlife in their natural habitat. Or perhaps, see everything from a different perspective and soar over the savanna from above by a hot air balloon. Depending on what time of year you’re traveling, you may also get to witness “The Great Migration” – one of the most spectacular events on the planet!

Best Time to Visit Serengeti National Park

No matter what time of year you visit you’ll always have an unforgettable experience and a Serengeti Safari will always be filled with wildlife and beautiful nature. However, depending on when you decide to visit you may have a slightly different experience.

January - March

During the period of January to March the plains of Serengeti take on a lush shade of emerald and there’s less dust making for great game viewing. During the month of February the wildebeest calving season starts and you’ll have a chance to witness the herds give birth. During March the “long rains” begin and the green season ends which usually means there’s less safari crowds.

April - June

The period between April and June is usually very humid with more wet weather which makes this period less crowdy. This period is an ideal time to get off the beaten path to explore some more remote locations. During May there’s usually very heavy rainfall making the camps and lodges relatively quiet. But after rain comes sunshine, and June is the start of the dry season. This is also when the Great Migration starts moving north.

July - September

The most popular time to visit Serengeti is between July and September during the dry season. August is peak season and a good time to witness river crossings from northern Serengeti into the Maasai Mara.

October - December

October to December is the end of the dry season and the Wildebeest Migration’s herds have entered Kenya. Game viewing in Serengeti during this period is still spectacular and a great time to go on a Serengeti safari. During November the “short rains” begin and the park is a bit quieter. The temperature and humidity start rising for the wetter summer months.

No matter when you visit, the Serengeti is always teeming with wildlife and beautiful vistas for you to discover. There’s never a bad time to explore Serengeti National Park!

6 Days Marangu Route – An Unforgettable Kilimanjaro Adventure! Title: Unforgettable 6 Days Marangu Route Kilimanjaro Climbing Experience I had an amazing experience climbing Mount Kilimanjaro via the 6 Days Marangu Route. Everything was well organized, from the beginning to the end of the trek. The guides were very professional, friendly, experienced, and supportive throughout the journey. The porters and cooks also did an excellent job, making sure we were comfortable, well fed, and well taken care of every day. The scenery was breathtaking, and every day brought a new and exciting experience. Reaching Uhuru Peak was an unforgettable moment and a great achievement. I highly recommend this tour company to anyone planning to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Thank you to the entire team for making this adventure so special and memorable. I would definitely choose this company again!

Unforgettable experience and culture shock. After comparing different options to organize our trip through Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, we chose this agency and, in the end, it was a decision I am very glad about. The experience exceeded our expectations and allowed us to live one of those trips that stay with you forever. We had three different guides throughout the tour and all three demonstrated great experience, knowledge, and passion for their work. Not only did they help us find incredible animals, but they also allowed us to better understand their behavior and the environment in which they live. Their work was fundamental for the trip to be much more than a succession of safaris. If I had to give advice to those who are thinking about taking a trip like this, it would be not to be in a hurry to see as many animals as possible. It is easy to get excited every time you hear on the radio that they have found a lion, a leopard, or a cheetah, and want to go immediately to the next sighting. But I think that one of the best things you can do is stop, observe, and ask your guide what is happening. Sometimes, the most memorable scenes are not the most spectacular at first glance. It can be observing how two animals interact, trying to understand their behavior, or waiting patiently for something to happen that you could not have planned. I especially remember those moments when we would simply stay and observe, trying to understand what we had in front of us. For me, that is when you really start to appreciate wildlife. It was also a trip that made me reflect on tourism and our responsibility as visitors. Getting to know these places implies much more than contemplating landscapes and photographing animals: it also means coming into contact with other cultures, living with people who have realities very different from ours, and recognizing the work of those who make such an experience possible. The hospitality and kindness we encountered were extraordinary. At the same time, I think it is important not to take for granted the effort of the people who serve us. Behind every experience there are workers, families, and communities, and the fact that they welcome us with a smile does not mean that we should forget that there are difficulties and inequalities that we might not manage to see during our trip. This also made me think about the importance of responsible tourism and who really benefits from the money we spend when we travel. Our three local guides were an essential part of the experience: their knowledge, their work, and their passion allowed us to discover these countries in a way that we would have hardly achieved on our own. For that reason, I consider it important to recognize the value of local talent and ensure that a fair share of the benefits of tourism reaches the people and communities that welcome us. I believe that international agencies can play a very positive role when they work fairly with their local collaborators. As travelers, we can also do our part: inform ourselves about how trips are organized, value the work of local guides and providers, treat everyone with respect, and ensure that our visit contributes, as much as possible, to the well-being of those who live in those destinations. In short, I recommend this experience to anyone who dreams of getting to know Africa. It is a trip that requires a significant investment, but, in my opinion, it is worth it if it is done with the willingness to learn, observe, and let yourself be surprised. It is not only about fulfilling the dream of seeing wild animals, but about returning with a different perspective of the world. Thanks to the whole team and, especially, to our guides for sharing their knowledge, their time, and their passion with us. We take with us incredible memories, many things learned, and an experience that we will hardly forget.

They love what they do and it shows…. A bucket list item, we completed six nights and seven days immersed in the most amazing wildlife, landscapes and Tanzanians! The Serengeti, Ngorngoro crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire national parks were sublime. We experienced the BIG 5 several times over and witnessed Mother Nature at its finest. Our guide, Emanuel was a delight. Informative, friendly and always keen to ensure we were happy. His knowledge and humour were exquisite, his ability to locate wildlife uncanny and his broad smile enchanting. Thank you Serengeti Whisperer. All accommodation was comfortable, clean and welcoming. The process from initial enquiry with Gabriel to booking and delivery of the safari was first class. Professional and engaging. We saw others on the ground and know we made the right choice. We will be back….

Kilimanjaro Top service. I picked this agency because they do smaller group, Max 4. I end up doing the tour by myself. Lucky me,i loved it ❤️. Gabriel from the beginning is been very responsive, he answered all my emails promptly. Everything was extremely smooth, the pick up at the airport to the Hotel, the briefing the day after before starting the hike. Dastan was my guide, i couldn't be luckier to have him for such a great hike.,he was very professional and strong leader, we made to the top one day earlier 🙏. The meal i had during the hike was delicious and cooked to perfection from Joseph, great chef. Hibra was the guy who to care of my everyday needs. What a team 👏. I can't recommend enough this guys for the experience of a life time. I will be back for sure and book other tours with them. An Unforgettable Safari Experience with World Adventure Tours Before deciding to book my trip with World Adventure Tours, I read so many positive reviews, and that was one of the main reasons I chose them. And honestly, I don’t regret it for a second! From the very beginning, from the booking process, my travel advisor Gabriel was always there to answer all my questions. He was very quick to respond, clear, and extremely helpful. The organization and communication with him were perfect, even throughout my safari. During the safari, I also had an excellent guide, Simon, who truly made this experience unforgettable. He explained everything we needed to know about the animals and the ecosystem, was always attentive to our requests, and treated everyone in the group with kindness and warmth. Thanks to the whole team, I had an amazing experience in Tanzania that I will never forget. I would absolutely recommend World Adventure Tours and would not hesitate for a second to travel with them again!

Great safari, a few details weren’t advertised correctly We booked the “Extended Big Five Safari in Tanzania – Waterfalls & Hot Springs, 9 Days” with World Adventure Tours and were in contact with an office in Kenya before the trip. Sally from there answered all questions quickly and helpfully. On-site, however, our trip was carried out entirely by ZARA Tours… The five-day safari with Hamza from ZARA Tours was super. Everything was super organized and good hotels with nice rooms (Highview Hotel and Serengeti Safari Lodge). Afterwards, we had three more days at the rather mediocre Springlands Hotel in Moshi, from where the waterfall-coffee tour and the hot springs were conducted as independent day trips with other guides and drivers. Unfortunately, a few things were different than described in advance by World Adventure Tours: • Drinking water was not included throughout the entire tour as described, but only in the safari vehicle. On the subsequent day trips and in the hotels, water was very expensive, sometimes up to $4/1.5 l. • Unfortunately, not all hotels were equipped with mosquito nets as a standard. At one, we had to switch to a significantly worse room category on the first night in order to have a mosquito net over the bed. • The Chemka Hot Springs are only lukewarm at 27-28 degrees, and above all, the description failed to mention that there are fish in the water that nibble on the feet of the bathers. We found that super uncomfortable, so we could have completely skipped this day.

Fantastic Company & Safari Guide My experience with World Adventure Tours from inquiring to completing the safari has been exceptional. Gabriel was my booking agent and was regularly in contact and offered support before and during the safari. Our Safari with our guide Simon was fantastic. He is extremely professional and makes guests feel comfortable and safe. He is a great communicator, explaining the plans for the day and regularly asking us what we want to see and do to incorporate into his schedule. Simon is extremely knowledgeable about the animals and Tanzania history and culture and was able to answer all questions and share so much with us. He was lots of fun and had jokes with us. I can also say he is a very safe driver. He is one of the best guides I have had in any of my safaris and I can’t praise him enough. I would definitely book another tour through World Adventure Tours and highly recommend them.

Trip of a Lifetime Booked a Kilimanjaro summit hike and 2 day safari through World Adventure Tours and they were excellent from start to finish. Communication was faultless throughout, dealing with any issues immediately (was supposed to fly out day air traffic control went down across UK and ended up flying out day after - all hotels changed immediately to update the trip). Airport transfer efficient. Our mountain guide Sylvester was professional and made sure we made it up the mountain safely and successfully. Assistant guide and porters also did an amazing job, making sure we were well fed and supported throughout. Without Sylvester amd his team we wpuld not have made it to the summit. Our end safari was also well organised, taking in Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park before being returned to the airport to fly home. Would highly recommend.
