Visit Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls – Nature’s Grandest Curtain of Water
As one of the world’s largest and most breathtaking waterfalls, Victoria Falls spans an impressive 1.7 kilometers across Zambezi River, forming a natural border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. No matter how many photos or videos you’ve seen of Victoria Falls, nothing compares to the sheer beauty of witnessing this spectacle in person. The sound of the falling water, the mist rising high into the sky, and the rainbow that often appears. During the peak flow in March and April, up to 500 million liters of water surge over the edge every minute, that’s the equivalent of 200 Olympic-sized swimming pools every single minute!
Surrounding the falls is a lush rainforest sustained by the constant spray of the waterfall itself. The forest is home to monkeys, bushbuck, colorful birds, and butterflies. Nearby, hippos and crocodiles can often be spotted in the Zambezi River while elephants and buffalo roam the national parks on either side. We can promise you that a trip to the iconic Victoria Falls is an experience you’ll never forget!

Best Time to Visit Victoria Falls
No matter when you visit the majestic Victoria Falls, it’s guaranteed to take your breath away. The main difference throughout the year is the volume of water cascading over the edge, which changes dramatically with the seasons.
February - May
This is the most popular time to visit Victoria Falls, following the summer rains when the Zambezi River is at its fullest. The waterfall is at its most powerful, creating a majestic curtain of mist and thunderous sound that can be felt from miles away. It’s a spectacular sight but also the most crowded time of year.
The only downside is that this period doesn’t fully align with the peak safari season in the surrounding national parks, so if you’re hoping to combine your visit with wildlife viewing you might want to plan your itinerary carefully.
September - November
During this period the Zambezi River reaches its lowest water levels, and the waterfall becomes calmer, compared to the thunderous peak season. The reduced flow means the spray is lighter which allows for clearer views of the falls, perfect for photography and sightseeing.
With the river running lower it’s also an ideal time for white-water rafting. Meanwhile, in the surrounding national parks, wildlife viewing is at its best. As animals gather around the remaining water sources, visitors are treated to some excellent safari opportunities, making this a perfect time to experience both Victoria Falls and the African wilderness together.
No matter when you visit Victoria Falls, you’ll be amazed by the sheer size and majestic beauty of this natural wonder.
