Tsavo National Park Safari
Discover the Beauty of Tsavo National Park
Embark on a Tsavo National Park safari and experience one of Kenya’s most iconic wildlife destinations located between Nairobi and Mombasa. Covering nearly 22,000 square kilometers it’s the largest national park in Kenya and one of the biggest in the world as well. The park is divided into two sections: Tsavo East and Tsavo West, each offering a unique safari experience depending on what you’re looking for.
Tsavo East is the larger section, known for its vast open plains, red-dust landscapes, and beautiful scenery around the Galana River. It’s the optimal place to spot large herds of elephants coated in red dust, along with lions, giraffes and a variety of birdlife. Tsavo West on the other hand is more mountainous and lush with dramatic terrain, volcanic hills, and natural springs that attract an abundance of wildlife.
If you’re planning a Tsavo National Park safari you can expect an incredible mix of beautiful landscapes and wildlife encounters. A true Kenyan adventure that captures the essence of Africa.

Best Time to Visit Tsavo National Park
No matter what time of year you choose to go on a Tsavo National Park safari, you’re guaranteed an unforgettable adventure. However, each season offers something unique and your experience may vary slightly depending on whether you visit during the dry season or the wet season.
June – October (Dry season)
The main reason that many decide to visit Tsavo National Park during the dry season is because this period offers some of the best opportunities for wildlife viewing. With limited water sources available, animals such as elephants and lions tend to gather around rivers and waterholes, making them easier to spot on safari drives.
The weather is generally warm and sunny with very little rainfall. However, the intense sun mean the park can become dry and dusty, especially in Tsavo East’s open plains, so it’s best to bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water.
November – May (Wet season)
During the wet season, Tsavo National Park transforms into a lush, green paradise. The rain transforms the plains, creating stunning scenery and excellent photo opportunities. This is also the best time for birdwatching, as migratory species arrive.
If you’re looking for a quieter, less crowded experience, April to June marks the low season, offering a more peaceful safari atmosphere. While there’s more rainfall during these months, showers are often short and followed by clear skies, but it’s still wise to bring light rain gear and waterproof shoes.
No matter when you decide to go on a Tsavo National Park safari it’ll be an experience that you’ll never forget!
