The Arctic Circle – Where northern lights dance over frosty paradises

The Arctic Circle is an imaginary line that passes through eight countries, including the Nordic nations Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark (Greenland), but also Russia, U.S.A (Alaska), and Canada. The population is an estimated total of just over 4 million people, included indigenous groups like the Sami in Scandinavia and the Inuit in Greenland and Canada.

Within the Arctic Circle you can experience the natural phenomenon known as the midnight sun, where the sun is visible for 24 hours a day during the peak of summer, and conversely, the polar night, where the sun doesn’t rise at all during a certain amount of time during winter. This is also where the Northern Lights, or Aurora Borealis, are visible during the long, dark winter nights, painting the sky in shimmery green and sparkling violet which you have a chance to experience on our arctic expeditions.

The region is characterized by its unique ecosystem, featuring wildlife adapted to the cold and dramatic landscapes of the tundra.
