Day 1

Arrival Kathmandu

Representative of Footloose in the Himalaya will pick you up from the Tribhuban International Airport at Kathmandu and transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest, we will give you a brief about the upcoming trip and hand you the itinerary and introduce you with your trekking guide. If you have a late flight, we will do the briefing the next morning. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2

Sightseeing tour in Kathmandu 

After breakfast, our representative will pick you up from the Hotel at around 9-10 AM on a private car/van for a sightseeing tour of some historically significant attractions of Kathmandu such as:

The SwayambhunathStuta-Swayambhunath is known as the Monkey temple, located in northwest of Kathmandu. Swyambhunath is one of the holiest chaityas for the Buddhist people.

And, the Patan Durbar square: Patan durbar square located in the oldest city of Kathmandu Valley- Patan. It is listed in the UNESCO world heritage sites. Patan durbar was built in the ancient Lichhavi era. But after the devastating earthquake, most parts of this durbar square were damaged and now are under-construction. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3

Drive to Pokhara

We head out early in the morning for an approx. 6 hour drive to Pokhara. This is a good opportunity to get a glimpse into the lives of the countryside. You’re journey is accompanied by mighty Himalayan rivers and green rolling mountains.

Day 4

Drive to Nayapul: Trek to Birethanthi 1015m/Sanctuary lodge 

After breakfast, we head for an hour’s drive towards Nayapul where our trekking journey begins. You begin by climbing a ridgeline in the lower foothills of the Annapurnas. The route is filled beautiful views of the Pokhara Valley and the glorious mountains. Soon, the path descends towards the Modi River Valley. Soon enough, you will find yourselves at Birethanthi, where the Sanctuary Lodge of Ker & Downey is located. The location is known for views of mountains like Fishtail, Machhapuchre and other mountains.

Day 5

Trek Ghandruk 2012m/Himalaya lodge (5-6 hours)

It’s a long climb to Ghandruk today, so limber up! You will first walk along the Modi River Valley and then begin the climb to Ghandruk. You will pass by fertile terraces and up into forests of rhododendron and oak. The trail offers you a great deal of insight into the lives of the friendly locals and their lives. Nearly halfway through you will reach Kimche village at 1,554m/5,100ft; which will give you a great look into how far up you’ve come so far. After a couple more hours of climbing you finally reach Ghandruk. A gradual climb thereon leads you to the famous Himalaya Lodge. With the hard work done, just sit back on the terrace, have a lemonade, and soak in the beauty of the mighty white peaks.

Day 6

Trek to Landruk 1565m/La bee lodge (3-4 hours)

Make sure to start early to enjoy a delightful sunrise over the surrounding peaks such as Annapurna South and Machhapuchare. After that you’ll have a relaxing breakfast and then begin today’s trek to the village of Landruk with a steep through terraces to the banks of the Modi River. Once there, you’ll find yourselves at the base of the cliffs where the brave Nepali honey hunters climb on ropes to collect the honey. You will then cross a suspension bridge over the Modi River and begin your ascent towards Landruk. Landruk offers magnificent views of the Annapurna range. Overnight at Bee Village Lodge.

Day 7

Trek to Majgaon 1400m/Gurung Lodge (3-4 hours) 

With breakfast done, you will leave Landruk following a trail that goes along the valley through tiny villages, farmland, terraces, forests and three rivers all heading towards the Modi River below. The first part of trail is pretty untouched, thus, you will totally find yourselves immersed in the sights and sounds of nature. Eventually, you will make your way down a few steps and a steep descent towards a small river. After a few more ascents and descents, you will find yourselves walking through an easy and gentle path round the hillside. Your last river crossing is on a sturdy suspension bridge which leads you onto the path into Majgaun. You will then gradually head towards the Gurung lodge where you will be greeted with smiling faces and a refreshing lemonade. Enjoy your lunch, rest and then in the evening explore the area and the views.  You’ll reach the Gurung Lodge in time for lunch with optional afternoon hikes to the surrounding villages.

Day 8

Trek to Dhampus 1700m/Basanta lodge (4-5 hours)

After a nice breakfast, you will leave the lodge and begin your journey towards Dhampus. For the first part of the trek, you will climb steeply on a well-placed stone staircase through forests of oak, rhododendron, silver birch and silk-cotton. The path is wonderfully decorated with views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Lamjung. Make sure to spot some exotic birds as well. The trail soon levels out as you head towards the busy village of Pothana at 1,981m/6,500ft. From here, you will begin your descent to the beautiful village of Dhampus. After lunch, you walk through the old village of Dhampus.

Day 9

Drive to Pokhara (1 hour)

Leaving behind Dhampus you will head for a drive to Pokhara, the backpacker’s paradise, where you will spend the night in a private room at your hotel at Pokhara.

Day 10

Drive to Damauli Bridge/rafting point

Today, you will head Damauli for an awesome R&R and some white water rafting adventures at the Seti River Camp. There will be a picnic lunch on a sandy beach on the way to the camp. Upon arrival, you will be shown to your safari style tent with beds, changing room, veranda and attached bathroom. Rafting time will be 2 to 3 hours depending on water levels.

Day 11

Drive to Chitwan

Today, you will head towards Chitwan which is famous for its exotic wildlife. The drive to chitwan is less than 2 hours. Once there, you will be greeted with refreshments and a tour to a nearby ethnic Tharu village to learn about their lifestyle. In the evening, you will be presented a Tharu cultural dance program.

Day 12

Jungle  safari 

Today we take jeep drive deep into the mighty jungle of Chitwan which is home to numerous species of animals and birds including the endangered one-horned rhino, Gharial crocodile, Asian Elephant and the elusive Bengal Tiger. You will also be taken for a canoe ride along the Rapti River on the western side of the Chitwan National park.

Day 13

Drive to Kathmandu 

Today, you will head back to Kathmandu by vehicle on a 4-5 hour drive. The road follows the Trisuli river before climbing over the ridge of mountains that surround the Kathmandu valley. Arrive at your hotel in the afternoon with the rest of the day and evening free.

Day 14

Depart Kathmandu

And there you go, it’s time to say farewell. After breakfast, our representative will see you off to airport. We hope you will be filled with a ton of memories that will serve you a lifetime!
